Welcome, Maya!

Hey, we have a new little niece pup! The Colorado crew welcomes puppy Maya to the family!

Maya is a rescue from Ohio, and when the photos arrived in my inbox, I immediately fell in love – check out those teeny white toes! Here she is with our precious and beloved niece pup, 16-year-old Pepsi. Right up there with my Kiva, Pepsi is the most wonderful, tolerant, and patient dog that ever lived.

Last month when my nephews visited, they learned about clicker training and practiced on Ruby. Now they have their own puppy to train! Maya already knows sit, down, and touch, all clicker trained.

Puppy Friday, everyone. Have a great weekend!

Hi Ruby,

How cute! We were just browsing through several of your blogs and we find them most interesting! We especially like the one about the Kong Factory. Now that is really cool!

Luv ya,
Riley and Star.

Oh, I love her cuddled up with Pepsi :) That is so great that your nephews are using the training skills they learned from their visit with Ruby!

Hello

Thank you for the message of support following the awful incident I had in a store yesterday. The kind words from friends and strangers was amazing.

The woman who feared that whatever was on my face would ruin her clothes was small minded, discriminatory and rude. But she has also managed to remind me that there are so many people in this world that are compassionate and open minded, and in support of the challenges I have with my chronic illness.

I hope that my blog, and your support, can make people think twice about the prejudices they may have towards people with chronic illnesses and disabilities, and also make them think twice about opening their mouth and saying something hurtful.

I feel pretty crappy today, it's hard to be resilient all the time, but I know that I will feel better soon.

Thank you again, you really brightened my day.

Carly

PS: Mum and Dad read the post about Ruby's trip to the Kong factory and they loved it.

Hiya Ruby!
I'm Stella (yes, another one.) First, I wanted to say that my Mama and I love your blog so much we sat down and read the entire thing in one night! You guys are awesome.
Second, little Miss Maya is totes adorable and not just because she kind of resembles yours truly. *wiggle*
And last but not least, Mama had to say that she loves Deadliest Catch too. She's watching it for the second time today (Thank dog for DVRs!) and every time she sees Captain Phil or hears him speak her chin wobbles and her eyes feel like they might leak. We weren't lucky enough to meet him like your Raiser but Mama always thought he was a really cool dude.

But yes, very nice to meet you!
