Raising Ruby's Raisers

Psst. Ruby here.

It's time everyone knew. This blog is a hoax.

They want you to BELIEVE they're raising and training me, but trust me, it's the other way around.

You think it's easy? I'm at my leash's end with these two. There isn't enough kibble in Colorado to train them. Want proof? Here are the photos they DON'T show you:

"Here!" I say. Yet, "there" she goes. She totally doesn't get it.

He keeps trying to demonstrate and I keep telling him, "I'M A GIRL."

And by the way, she has the nerve to make fun of my horns? Dude, I have to be SEEN with her. I wish this leash was longer.

I tried to tell her this was the wrong train. We wound up in Wyoming.

If it weren't for me, he'd still be waiting for that Zephyr Express to Chicago.

For the last time. Dostoevsky. I am begging you.

Oh, high-five yourself. And for pete's sake, get off the coffee table.

(Happy April Fools' Day! And for the record, if she'd trade the kibble for Peanut M&Ms, we'd totally behave better! -RR)

Hi there! I am new to your blog and discovered it on the "blog of note." I just wanted to say that I wish I had found it earlier! I love it and what a great concept! I actually was just curious how much longer you have her for? Also she is absolutely adorable!

Hi Ruby and Ruby's Raiser! I'm new to your bloggie but thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. It sure does look like you have a LOT to put up with. But you looks very much smart and I'm sure you'll be a Most Excellent guide dog in spite of your poor dear Raisers' shortcomings. You have to give them an A+ for trying, though.

Oh! And guess what? I live in Collie-rado, too! We're practically neighbors!

Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie

Hi there! I also discovered your blog on "blogs of note" and think it is absolutely wonderful! I am raising a future guide dog for the blind in NYC and I LOVE hearing about other guide and service dogs being raised. I look forward to hearing about the rest of Ruby's time with you!

Ruby, you are so patient with your training of the humans. I feel you pain. Seriously, they are so much slower to "get it" that us dogs. Hang in there girl...

All I can say is, "Awwww!!!!"
I'm currently training two puppies for my son, so I know how much work it is! What you're doing is wonderful! And Ruby is just too cute for words!

It's hard sometimes - we doggies have to show the humans HOW to train us, and they think they already know...
