Oh, The Injustice

Where Ruby is allowed to go:

Where Kiva is allowed to go:

Ruby insists this is downright unfair.

I've tried to explain things to her. "Look, lovie, sometimes you are allowed places that she can't go, and she is allowed places that you can't go." But there's just no reasoning with puppies.

And why isn't Ruby allowed to go on the couch to cuddle with her sister? I understand her lack of seeing that reasonably!

Oh Ruby! Oh Kiva! Ruby has some special work to do...and we understand and admire that path. Both are just so loved, wherever they each can go.

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose

Hi Twix!

The reason I don't let Ruby on the couch or bed is because I believe that decision should be left to the person with whom she will be partnered. If for health reasons related to their disability, or for personal reasons, they would not want (or could not have) Ruby up on the bed or couch with them, I do think it's best not to establish that habit now and then have to take it away from her later.

Yes, raising a pet and raising a service dog means there are going to be some rules specific to each. But neither really minds the differences in rules because they both get a tremendous amount of attention and are both the center of our universe!

Poor Kiva! Wait a couple of years. I think my Maverick would prefer the bed. He's such a sleepy head.
